Obituary of John Harvey Butt

BUTT John Harvey Pasadena (Formerly of Corner Brook, NL) June 25, 1929 - April 1, 2005 It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Butt announce his sudden passing on Friday, April 1st, 2005 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 75 years. John was a member of the Humber United Church Mens Club, the Orange Lodge and a longtime employee of North Star Cement Ltd. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his daughter Heather (Clayton) Long; grandsons: Liam and Cole; grand-daughter Erin, all residing in St. John's; brother Joseph Butt, Deer Lake; sisters: Florence Melanson, Calgary, AB, Ruth (Edgar) Legge, Pasadena; brother-in-law Gordon Gushue, Deer Lake; sisters-in-law: Vera Jeans, Lorraine Penney and Marie Penney, Corner Brook; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Mary (nee Penney); parents: Henry T. and Annabel Butt; brother Reginald Butt and sister Sadie Gushue. Friends visited Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held today, Monday April 4th at 2:00 p.m. from the Humber United Church, Clarence Street. Rev. Patricia Melindy officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Receiving Chapel. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the NL and Lab.
