It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jack Hutchings announces his passing at his family residence on Tuesday, November 9th, 2010 at the age of 68 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Olive of 43 years who was also his best friend, fishing and hunting buddy; daughter: Penny (Brian) Woolridge, whom he cherished and adored; his precious grandchildren: Jennifer, Megan and Benjamin, whom he loved dearly. They were the light of his life; sisters: Stella (Ross) Smith, Summerside, Evelyn (Frank) Shirrian, Georgina (Carl) Peckford, Bernetta (Kevin) Ezekiel and Marjorie Hutchings all of Corner Brook; brothers: Melvin (Ruth), Summerside, Bob (Marie), Kerry (Stephanie), Corner Brook, Paul; sisters-in-law: Dallas (Morris), Michigan, USA, Cora Hann (Lewis), Hilda Hann (Gilbert), Shirley Parsons (Ron), Burgeo, Ida Bobbett Hermitage; brothers-in-law: Frank Strickland (Marion), Stanley Strickland (Anita), Danny Strickland (Leona) of Burgeo; one uncle: Wilfred Hutchings, Reidville; one aunt: Elsie Wheeler, Summerside; very special friends Reg and Melva Hillier, Deer Lake; special friend since childhood: Dingy (Bern Dingwell), Corner Brook, who brought joy to his life every Thursday night and a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Mildred Hutchings and brother, Don Hutchings, August 25th, 2010. The family will be receiving friends at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Wednesday 7-9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9: p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 12th at 2:00 p.m. from the Humber United Church, Clarence Street. Reverend Clayton Parsons officiating followed by interment at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Centre, Janeway Children’s Hospital or Humber United Church.
