Obituary of Edna Irene Billard

Edna Irene Billard
August 29, 1940 – November 25, 2024

It is with great sadness and broken hearts that the family of the late Edna Irene Billard of Burgeo Newfoundland announce her passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on November 25, 2024.

She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her son Ches (Tammy), her grandson, her pride and joy, Andrew (Santana). Brothers; George (Linda), Wesley (Vera), Calvin (Louise), Bruce (Marilyn), Cyril (Madeline) and Allister. Sisters; Mona (Calvin) Clara (Max) Dianne (Jim) and Gertie. Sister-in-law Diane and brother-in-law Roy. Also leaving to mourn a large circle of other in-laws, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Homecare workers Denise Spencer and Jody MacDonald. And her special buddy Dalten, who had so much love for her.

Edna was predeceased by her husband George, parents Clara and Robert Billard, sister Sheila, Brother Edgar, sister-in-law Loretta, brother-in-law Dana, and her parents in law, Henry and Bessie Billard

Edna was born and raised in Grand Bruit, Newfoundland on August 29, 1940. She had many special people in her life, and everyone meant something different to her, but she loved everyone the same. It was no trouble to see Edna opening her wallet looking for a bit of money to give the precious children in her life, which she was known as “Aunt Edna” to them all, each and every generation.

She will be greatly missed by all who have had the pleasure of knowing her.

As per Edna’s wishes, Cremation has taken place, a church service will be held at the United Church in Burgeo at a later date. Edna’s final resting place will be back to her hometown of Grand Bruit and laid to rest near her husband George. Where they can be together forever.
