Jean Victoria Sheppard

Lark Harbour, Newfoundland

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Jean Sheppard at the Western Long Term Care in Corner Brook at the age of 86 years on Thursday, November 7, 2024.

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. A cherished member of the community and church, Jean touched the hearts of everyone who knew her. As a long-standing member of the ACW, Jean committed a lifetime of work to her church fellowship and the communities of Lark Harbour and York Harbour. Jean enjoyed working in her garden, quilting, knitting, crafts, and spreading endearment for her community with visitors each year.

Leaving to mourn with the fondest of memories are her loving husband of 66 years, Lawrence; children Sandra (Paul), Mabel (Eric), Vincent (Tina), and Max (Marjorie); grandchildren Mandy (Nick), Kevin (Amy), Melissa (Chris), Victoria (Mike), Bradea, Jonathan, and Emily; great-grandchildren Amber, Nicholas, Grayson, Taryn, Mason, and Mitchell; sisters Alice, Thelma, Elizabeth, Elsie, Rhodena (Max), Gertrude (Hector), and Jane (Calvin); brothers Norman (Lottie), Clarence (Joan), Thomas (Sharon), John (Lisa), Howard (Shiela), Terry (Tracey), and Nelson (Donna). Also leaving to mourn are her special friend, Colin Lankshear, her beloved furry friend Leo, many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Jean was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Melina Childs; parents-in-law, George and Maud Sheppard; brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Elizabeth Sheppard, Victoria and John Travers, Aaron and Vonnie Sheppard, Lionel and Lucy Sheppard, Cecil Sheppard, Wilson Sheppard, Ralph Lovell, Calvin Gilbert, Terrance Roberts, and Judy Childs.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff of Shoreview House at Western Long Term Care for their exceptional aide. The unconditional love and support that was shown to Jean by the entirety of the staff is beyond appreciated by her entire family. Many thanks to Reverend Effie Organ for her compassionate support, prayers and many visits.
