Obituary of Lorraine Daphne Morris

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lorraine Daphne Morris (nee Brenton) announce her passing on November 4, 2024,surrounded by family, at the Labrador Health Centre, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL at the age of 79 years. Lorraine was born on December 9, 1944, to Tom and Rosie Brenton of Burin, NL.

Lorraine lived in Burin, NL until she met the love of her life in 1963, she then moved to Labrador and married Gordie Morris on March 28, 1964, and lived there ever since. Together they raised 4 children, George, Betty, Brenda and Jennifer.

Lorraine is a life member of R.C. Legion Auxiliary and has been a member for 47 plus years. She is also a life member of the United Church Ladies. When she lived in Churchill Falls, NL she was very involved in the church and did all she was asked, for whatever occasion.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her son George (Debbie), grandson Dylon (Billie-Dawn), daughter Betty (Sandy), granddaughter Robyn (Doug), grandson Troy (Kate), great grandson Kim, daughter Brenda, granddaughter Laura (Juan), daughter Jennifer (Glenn), grandson Jacob. Brothers Harvey (Bertha), Randy (Ida), sisters Jean Sanby, Brenda Greene (Chester), Mable Antle, Eva Chislett (Tom), Lillian Walsh (Joe). Brothers in law Phillip Morris and Herb Morris. Sisters-in-law Hilda Grinham. Special Uncle Joe Goudie (Debbie). As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Lorraine was predeceased by husband Gordie Morris, parents Tom and Rosie Brenton, brothers George Brenton, sister Mary Connolly, son in law Kim Chubbs.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the United Church, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL with Rev. Alice Moores officiating. The internment to follow at the United Church Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the United Church Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL.
