Obituary of Johannah Margaret Mahar

JOHANNAH MARGARET (BYRNE) MAHAR 

NOVEMBER 23, 1954 TO OCTOBER 24, 2024 

With broken hearts we announce the passing of our mother, wife, sister, nanny Johannah Margaret (Byrne) Mahar at the Rufus Guinchard Health Centre on October 24, 2024 at the age of 69. 

Leaving to mourn husband Jerry; children and grandchildren : Vanessa (John) and Aimee; Bryant (Tobi) Brooklyne, Morgan and Isaac; Aidan Noah & Grace; Rick Rossiter (Annamarie) Erin and Conor; Melissa McLean (Gary) Dominic, Tyler and Kayla 

Brothers Albert (Carmel) Austin and Lou (Kathi).  Sisters Alice, Millie, Phyllis (Philip) and Lucy. 

Brothers-in-law:  Aloysius (Bomi); Clary (Sharon); Ken (Hope); Mike (Diane); Peter (Rose) 

Sisters-in-law:  Stella, Clarice (Vernon); Amelia, Sheila and Michelle 

She also leaves a large number of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and her childhood and lifelong special friend and ‘extended’ family member Nellie Wall. 

Predeceased by parents Michael & Eileen Byrne and brother Elias;  parents-in-law Aloysius & Elsie Mahar; brothers-in-law Primus; Edward; Bill; Gary; Ray; Loman; Victor and Cyril and sister-in-law Sadie Noel. 

The family would like to acknowledge the loving, caring and professionalism of the  staff of the Rufus Guinchard Health Centre who looked after Johannah (Jose) for the past 18 months.   

Cremation has taken place. 

Family Service / Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, 7-9 pm @ St. Theresa Catholic Church, Port au Choix, NL.  Funeral Mass on Saturday, November 15, 2024 @ 2 pm with Father Rossi Officiating.

Flowers accepted or donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association.
