April 8, 1936 – October 14, 2024

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Arthur “Art” Parsons announce his sudden passing on Monday, October 14, 2024 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 88 years.  Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories; his partner Marjorie Blanchard, stepchildren: Delia (Danny), Mary (Danny), Anita (Gord), Joyce, Terry and Patricia (Peter); special friend Martin (Candy) Young;10 grandchildren and great grandchildren; niece, nephews, sister-in-law Mary as well as a large circle of friends, especially those from the Barachois Senior’s Club where he danced every Sunday.  He is predeceased by his mother Eunice Perrier, brother Albert Garnier and stepson Rod Blanchard.

Art was born in Sandy Point, NL to Eunice Perrier on April 8, 1936. He worked for the Town of St. George’s until his retirement in 1995, then moved to Corner Brook. Art enjoyed doing the handyman work at home, planting his trees and garden work, he took pride in keeping his lawn to perfection and his driveway always clear of snow. Art had the shiniest, cleanest car on the block. There was no job too big or too small that he could not handle. He thoroughly enjoyed his daily walks and chatting along the way, he will be greatly missed by all. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Kellow, Dr. Howard and Dr. Brazil for the care of Art.  Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Thursday, October 17^th from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 18^th at 10:30 Am from Sacred Heart Parish with Father Lee Lainey officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
