It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary Rita Brake announce her passing on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Corner Brook Long Term Care at the age of 91 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Edward, Jim (Colleen), Dan (Rufina), Wayne, Sandra Maynard and Brad (Barbara); daughter-in-law Joy Brake (Tex Wheeler); grandchildren: Justin, Heidi and their mother Debbie,  Billy, Kenny, Jeffrey, Janine and her mother Karen, Dwayne, Amanda, Jamie, Caleb and Jordan; great-grandchildren: Laken, Karter, Brayden, Kyla, Talon, Addison, Brody, Mary, Elizabeth, Emily and Liam; brothers: Harold and Douglas Lane; sisters-in-law: Anne (Brendan) Dicks and Agnes Brake; brother-in-law Gideon Lavalle; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Jim Brake, son Bill Brake, son-in-law Gordon Maynard, parents Roy and Josephine Lane, brother Jim Lane, sisters Gert (Jim) Croake, Theresa (Mike) White, Madeline (Harold) Kane and Kay (Bert) White, sisters-in-law Ina Lavalle and Neta Lane.

Cremation has taken place, a private family visitation and prayer service will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home with interment at Mount Patricia Cemetery.
