Obituary of Leona Rich

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Leona Rich announce her passing on Monday, August 19^th, 2024, at the Labrador Health Centre, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL at the age of 63 years.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children: Leonard Rich, Marie Noel Rich (Carol-Luc Vollant), Carl A. Rich, Michael J. Rich, James G. (Whitney) Rich, and Kellye M. Rich: brother: Louis B. Rich; sisters: Theresa Penashue, Louisa Whelan and adopted sister: Justine Penashue; grandchildren: Dionteih C Rich, Etienne L Rich, Jean Luc Vollant, Emmanuel Vollant, Kayleena Rich, John Lucas Vollant, Maeva Pone, Akeela Rich, Luna Selma, Lacey Rich, Eli Rich, Juniper Rich and Alma Rich; great grandchild: Lyanna Nolin; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

Leona was predeceased by her comom law husband: Gordon MIchelin; parents: Etienne ( Pestapesh) and Charlotte Rich; son: Louie Rich; brother: Lionel Rich; and sister: Maggie Pokue.

A visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL on Tuesday August 20^th, 2024, from 7:00 – 9:00 pm.

A wake will be held in Sheshatshiu at 12 Metsheteu Street on Wednesday, August 21^st, 2024.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 22^nd, 2024, from the Roman Catholic Church in Sheshatshiu, NL at 1:00 pm with Father Joe officiating. As per Leona’s wishes cremation will take place following the service.
