Predeceased by his daughter Lisa Christine; parents Ernest & Dorthy Power and in-laws David & Susanna Goulding; brothers Albert, Winston, George (Wilma), and Keith; sisters Jeanetta (Rejean), and Christine (Wayne).

Leaving to mourn with cherished memories wife Margaret of 57 wonderful years. They were an absolute testament of true love. Without a doubt where you saw one, you saw the other not far behind. Children Cindy (Gerald), Carolann (Lorne), and Chadwick (Ashley). Grandchildren Melissa (Jordan), Jordan (Stacey), Kirk (Tristan), Emilee (Ryan), and Zac. Also, a proud great-grandfather to his only great-granddaughter, Libby- and a special fur Pop to Stanley and Sophie.

Bill is survived by brothers Douglas (Enid), Ivan (Sylvia), Terry (Kathy), Frank, and sister Sadie (Randy). Also, sisters-in-law Ferne and Kay.

Bill will be remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews, and a large circle of close friends who were like family.

Bill was born in Corner Brook on September 3, 1941. After marrying the love of his life on August 19th, 1966, Bill and Margaret settled on Georgetown Road to raise their family.

Bill spent his working years as an Electrician and proudly carried his skills into his later years. His hobbies included welding, cutting moose, and making snowshoes which was a hobby that he continued into his later years. Bill was a true outdoors man who loved hunting and fishing. He loved spending time at his cabin on Jack Pond that he built along with his wife Margaret, family members and close friends. He loved company and was well-known to so many people. This was evident during his last days as his hospital room was often filled with visitors. He loved to see you come, and hated to see you go. As he would often say “where ya going, there’s lots of time.” He loved a good chat, no matter the topic. A genuine sports fan, Bill never missed a Bruins game or a curling game on TV, most often with a glass of wine in his hand.

July 2024 our lives changed forever when he became with terminally ill with cancer. Although, he didn’t give up hope and remained positive right until the very end. He loved life, and he fought hard until his last breath. There are many words to describe this wonderful man; loving, hard-working, kind, caring, and a true gentleman, would just be a few. We have so many beautiful memories of him that will live with us forever in the legacy that he leaves behind in his children and grandchildren. We will be forever grateful that we were lucky enough to have had him, even though it wasn’t long enough. We will miss him so very deeply, and love him until the end of time.

Bill will fondly be remembered for his humour, love of laughter, and his love for his family.

Special thanks to the staff of Palliative Care at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, especially Dr. Bhanabhai (Dr. B), and Madge Offrey. His care was beyond exceptional, and he was so grateful for that. They ensured he was comfortable in his last days, and we will forever be grateful for that. Also, special thanks to the care he received during his stay in the ACE unit, especially to Danielle Starks.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made in Bill’s honour to the Daffodil House.
