From Harold Mccarthy:
Marg was truly one of a kind. She had an amazing presence when she entered a room; She was larger than life. I am very thankful for having known her and loving her. I met her when I attended nursing school. Marg was always early at work and we had many conversations at 7 am. She taught me so much about nursing....more than anybody else even though she was not a nurse. She was most influential in my early life. She often shared her views in a very matter of fact way and talked about Nursing qualities she felt nurses should have.. She was always 'spot' on and her wisdom guided me in my career as a nurse and as a person. Her wisdom and influence made me better in both. She was funny. She was witty. She was kind. She was giving. She was practical. She had energy and moved at the speed of life. She was everything that is said about being a wonderful Newfoundlander- and she loved being a Newfoundlander. She loved her family and spoke of them proudly.,She loved dolls , music , cooking and baking,, travel .....and the train:of course she rode on one of the last trains across the island when the Newfoundland Railway was closing. She was a good friend, she listened, she gave great advice and gave of herself endlessly. I am one of many who will hold her dear always. a thought of her brings a smile and a tear. She touched so many and brought so much enjoyment to life.
Here is to Marg - a grand lady, a most honoured lady, you are the finest of them all.
