Obituary of Irene Hilda Kelly

Irene Hilda Kelly (nee Patey)

Irene passed away on August 08, 2024 surrounded by her loved one’s way too soon into the beauty of heaven. This world has lost a beloved Mother, a loving Grandmother, a beautiful Sister, a cherished Aunt and a wonderful Friend.

She leaves behind devasted children: Lola (Martin), Glen (Jennie) and Lorrie (Julet); her darling grandchildren whom she loved beyond measure: Kristopher, Emilie, Kailie, Sara, Brian and Karter; and her devoted siblings: Roland, Bonnie, Annie (Tony) and George. She will be forever missed by her many nieces and nephews and the Kelly family.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Gordon, her parents Fanny and Woodrow Patey, her brothers Reginald, Raymond, Norman and her sister Thelma.

She found much Joy in her friendships with: Ivy Kelly, Greta Roberts, Madeline Gould, Sharon O’Keefe, Bertha Kelly and Bernice Gould.

Though we are deeply saddened by her passing, we are all better for having known her. She will be forever missed and never forgotten.

Special thanks to the Staff at Lanes Retirement Home, the nurses at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre and the doctor and nurses at the Palliative Care Unit in Corner Brook for their care and compassion.

Funeral service will be held at St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church in Port Au Choix with Father Rossi officiating on August 12, 2024 at 2:00pm.

Inurnment to follow at  the Sandy Cove Interfaith Cemetery, Port Saunders, NL.
