Obituary of Loretta Marjorie Pittman
Loretta Marjorie Pittman, 71, passed away surrounded by loved ones on the morning of Friday, July 26, 2024 at the Western Health, Palliative Care Unit.
The family and friends of Loretta Pittman would like to extend their utmost gratitude to the gentle and caring staff of the Western Memorial Hospital’s Emergency and Palliative Care Teams as well as a special thank you to Dr. Ryan Jackman, her longtime family physician. They made our worst hour as comfortable as possible and would stop at nothing to make sure it remained that way.
As a grandmother to all, more commonly and lovingly referred to as “Nanny”, she leaves behind a community of all ages to mourn her. She leaves behind her devoted daughter Michelle; her caring grandson Max; brothers and sisters Mildred Moroney (Laurence), Wayne Pittman (Beverly), and Lorraine Rouleau (d. Micheal); nieces and nephews Michelle, Shawn, Aaron, Stephanie, Brian, and Carl; as well as a large circle of loving relatives, extended chosen family and friends.
Born in Deer Lake on October 28, 1952, she is predeceased by her caring parents Hilda and Stanley Pittman; partner in life, widow, and high school sweetheart of Max Loder; nephew Stephen Pittman; as well as her close older brother Carl Pittman.
She spent her life enjoying the company of her loved ones, spending time outdoors, and never missing a single one of her cherished grandson’s performances. She spent a majority of her time in the woods at the cabin she shared and loved so dearly with her late partner Max. She enjoyed spending time by the water, tending to her gardens, singing and dancing, and never turning away a crowd.
Many people were raised by who they loved to call “Nanny”, regardless of blood relation. Her goulash recipe was loved and known by all and will by no means be the only thing missed by no longer having the presence of our beautiful angel Loretta Marjorie Pittman on this Earth.
