Chesley and Loretta were married for 52 years, many of those years were spent in Wabush, where Ches worked with Wabush Mines and Loretta worked at the hospital. They moved to Wabush in 1970, where they spent 40 plus years, raising their children Jason and Jeffrey. When Ches was not at work and or home with Loretta taste testing all her baked goodies, he would be easily found in two places, the arena, or the ball field. They were inseparable; joined at the hip no matter where they were - side by side in life and now in death.
A funeral service will be held at Forteau United Church, on Sunday July 21st, 2024 at 2:00pm, followed by interment at the United Church Cemetery, for Chesley, Loretta and Jeffrey Hancock. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Cancer Society and The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
The Hancock family extends a heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Chelsey and Loretta’s sister in-law, Barb Hancock for her unwavering love and support, the Palliative care staff at the Labrador – South Health Centre, Forteau, and the dedicated doctors and nurses at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital, St. Anthony.
