Sarah (Sadie) Stuckless
September 29, 1921 – May 24, 2024
It is with great sadness that the family of Sadie (White) Stuckless, announce her passing at the Western Long Term Care Home in Corner Brook, at the age of 102 years.
In her long life, she experienced and saw many wonderous events! From the time of being a housemaid when she was a young girl to becoming the best wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and more. She would often speak fondly of eating her mom’s rabbit stew, or packing lunches for fishing trips to Junction Brook and going berry picking on the Topsails in her younger days.
She will be fondly remembered for many things, including her amazingly infectious and bright spirit, her silly shenanigans, her love of playing the accordion, the baking of delicious homemade bread, attending church and singing hymns at the Deer Lake Salvation Army Citadel, and running a convenience store on the corner of 6th avenue in Deer Lake. But above all she will be remembered for her heart.
She was predeceased by: her loving husband Mark; her only son Selby; brothers Gus and William; sisters Clara, Dorothy, and Geraldine.
She leaves to mourn: Grandchildren Melisa, Troy (April), Shawna (Tony), and Sara (Dane); Great grandchildren Merly, Miranda, Jaxon, Jaelynn, Chelsey, Lacey, Emily, Kaleb, and Taryn; Great-Great Grandchildren Mia-Rae and Leo; and a large circle of family and friends, especially her very special niece Geraldine.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Deer Lake Manor and Western Long Term Care Home for the amazing care and compassion they provided over the years.
Following her wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
