Betty Ann Moulton – Deer Lake, NL
February 13, 1954 – April 29, 2024

We are so sad to announce the passing our beautiful and loving sister Betty at the Palliative Care Unit, Western Health on April 29th. She leaves us with wonderful memories; her sister and best friend, Doreen and Derek Chaulk, who she always said was her brother of Deer Lake; her brother Robert and wife Linda Moulton of Wabush, Labrador and her “baby” sister Kimberley and husband Jason Legge of Pynn’s Brook; and her most treasured puppies, Bandy and Ruby. She also leaves her step daughter, Brandy Sauder and her adult children, Taylor and Jayde of Kelowna, BC; her stepson, Shane Mortenson and his partner Francis Hart and daughter Taeya of Grand Prairie, AB. Also with great memories of Aunt Betty are her nephews, David Chaulk his wife Lindsay May and their son, Cooper of Salt Lake City, Utah; Sheldon and his wife Angela Moulton and daughter Alyssa; Stephen and partner Kelly Hynes, all of Wabush, Labrador ; Adam Legge and wife, Sandra Huynh and son Simon of Hamilton, ON; and Josh and Aaron Legge of Pynn’s Brook. Also her much loved and long time friend, Debbie Walker of Vancouver, BC.
Betty is predeceased by her parents Beulah (Wiseman) and Maxwell Moulton of Deer Lake and her husband  Richard ( Dick) Mortenson of Harrison Hot Springs, BC.
Betty and Dick had many wonderful memories of friends and fun from their winter home in Brownsville, Texas and most recently a large circle of friends from Harrison Hot Springs, BC where they lived for the last 10 years. Betty also leaves a large circle of relatives and friends who hold fond and fun memories of her.
We are most grateful for many people who were there during Betty’s brief illness. Special mention and thank you must go to Rebekah Rowe, Community Health Nurse, Deer Lake; Dr. Greg Brushett and Michelle King from palliative care whose support allowed Betty to stay at home as long as possible; and all the competent and caring nursing staff of the palliative care unit at Western Health.
She will forever be loved and missed.
As Betty wished, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service.
Betty has requested that any donations in her memory be made to The Islaview Foundation. Islaview is charitable organization in memory of our precious Isla Short.  The foundation assists children and families in Newfoundland and Labrador who have life threatening illnesses.
