Irving “Wade” Pye
February 15, 1960 – April 23, 2024
Corner Brook, NL
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Wade Pye announce his passing on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 64 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Brenda McCarthy; daughter Krystal; step-son Christopher (Veronique); grandson Remy; parents Irving and Betty Pye; sisters and brothers: Carolyn Wagner, Glenn Sr. (Alice), Warren (Jenny) and Trudy Tobin (Darren); sister-in-law Rhonda Murphy; brother-in-law David Coish (Ambrose); as well as a large circle of family and friends including all his special military buddies. He was predeceased by his grandparents George and Ida Pye and Phyllis and Thomas Vokey, parents-in-law Bert and Bertha Coish, brother-in-law Barry Coish.
There are a lot of heavy hearts with the loss of this wonderful, kind, witty, and gentle soul. He was the salt of the earth. Wade fought a very hard and courageous battle with cancer. Wade served with the Canadian Armed Forces as a heavy equipment operator. Since his retirement from the military he has worked various other jobs before finally retiring to enjoy life at its fullest. He loved the outdoors and over the years enjoyed motorcycling, snowmobiling, riding his Sea-Doo and side-by-side. He had a very special attachment to his Howley cabin, especially since his retirement, he used to say “Every day is Saturday”. Showing off his motorized staircase that he designed himself in the garage that he built made him very proud. He so loved his tractor “Buffy” which all of his Howley friends knew. Wade’s family and friends were very important to him, his military buddies very special to him as well.
Special thanks to Dr. Peckford for her kindness and compassion, as well as the doctors and nursing staff involved with his care on Western Memorial Regional Hospital's 4th Floor. Special thanks to Reverend David Russell for saying a prayer with Wade.
Respecting Wade's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no services held at this time. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
“I will love you forever and until we meet again, be at peace and soar high with the angels. Thank you for all the happy memories.”
