Jessie Adey, age 88 passed peacefully to join her husband Ernest on March 18, 2024 with the love of her family surrounding her.
Jessie is leaving cherished memories with her children; Darrell (Rosanne), Arlene (Brian Tomlinson), Arnold (Lin), Lori (Kevin O’Brien), and Sheldon (Kelly), Grandchildren; Ian (Christine), Melissa (Rod Beales), Maria (Seth Bennett), Emily, Nathan, Devon, James, and Kyra, Great-Grandchildren; David, Ronald, Rebekah, and Eizabeth, Brother-in-laws; Lloyd (Hollis), Eugene (Pearl), Arthur Wiseman (Dorris), Sister-in-law, Florence Knott.
Also predeceased by her parents, Hedley and Lillian Horwood, parents-in-laws, Leaburn and Emily Adey, sister and brother-in-law Rosalie and Ives Coffin, Lucy and Herbert Wiseman, Violet Wiseman, Lily Adey, and George Knott.
Jessie was a devoted Christian demonstrating kindness, gentleness, and compassion in her daily living. Her family was priority in all aspects of her life. She enjoyed fun times with family and friends and welcomed everyone into her home. Jessie enjoyed camping, gardening, baking, quilting and Facebook. She loved her time with Home League, Girl Guides, and spent many years working with The Salvation Army Thrift Store and assisting with the Christmas hampers.
The family would like to express sincere thanks to the staff of Corner Brook Long-term care’s 3 North Unit who provided continuous care, compassion, and support to Mom and Dad during their stay, especially the last few days ensuring Mom was comfortable and at ease. Also, thanks to Jessie’s granddaughter, Melissa, who spent endless hours attending to her needs.
Granting her wishes, Cremation has taken place. Friends and family may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Wednesday, March 20th from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, March 21st at 11 AM from Fillatre’s Funeral Home Chapel, 4 St. Marks Avenue. Major Brian Wheeler officiating. Interment to follow at the family plot, Mt. Patricia Cemetery.
