Obituary of Mary Christiana Baikie

It is with profound sadness that the family of the late Mary Christiana “Chris” Baikie (Lyall) announce her passing on March 14th, 2024, at Long Term Care, Labrador Health Centre, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL at the age of 92 years.

Chris was the matriarch of 5 generations and she loved each one of her family members dearly. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children: Jessie (Dennis), George (Bonnie), Theresa, Gary (Trudy), Wayne, Carla (Richard) and Lynn; 15 grand children, 24 great grand children and 9 great-great grandchildren; brothers: Fred (Edith) and Henry (Dasi); sisters: Joyce and Sue (Ray); brothers in law: Tom Baikie, Wally Shupe and Cliff Lloyd; sister in law: Hannah Massie; and a very large circle of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.

Chris was predeceased by her husband: Norman; daughter: Brenda; parents: Sam and Isabella Lyall;  brothers: Jim and John; sisters: Jessie and Sarah; parents in law: Jim and May Baikie; son in law: Harry Dicker; grandson: Trent Wyatt; and great granddaughter: Jordan Shiwak.

A visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL on Friday, March 15^th 2024, from 7:00 - 9:00 pm.

The funeral service will be held in Nain, NL from the Moravian Church. A time will be announced in the coming days.
