Clarence Valence Laing passed peacefully away at the Western Memorial Hospital in Corner Brook on Sunday, April 18th, 2010 in his 89th year. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 66 years, Myra (Boyd), his children, Doris O’Leary, Fred Laing (Donna), Gladys Watts (Rod), Boyd Laing (Joyce), and Arlene Laing (Barry), his grandchildren, Sharon, Tara, Tena, Darren, Jason, Stacey, Jamie, Gavin, Shana, Shena, Cindy, Teeara & Tessa, his great-grandchildren, Damien, Nicole, Jenna, Jordyn, Jared, Taylor & Mason and one great-great grandchild, Allie, his daughter-in-law Doris Laing, Deborah Lyons and special nephew Gordon Caines. Clarence is predeceased by his son, Clayton Laing, brothers, Fred & Clayton, and sister: Evelyn. Clarence was well known as the owner/operator of the Bonne Bay ferry service for 34 years. Friends are invited to visit at his home at 4 Laing’s Lane, Norris Point where he will be waked on Monday afternoon until Tuesday evening. Funeral services will take place at the Anglican Church of the Good Shepherd, Norris Point on Wednesday, April 21st at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend John Olsson officiating.
