Obituary of Leona Mary Plowman

November 22, 1940 - February 26, 2024

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of the late Leona Mary Plowman of Port au Choix, NL. 

She passed peacefully away at the Rufus Guinchard Health Care Centre on Monday, February 26, 2024 with her loving family by her side.  She was 83 years of age.

In earlier years, Leona was known to have participated in the Knights of Columbus and attend church on a regular basis. Her dedication to her faith was unwavering. This wonderful lady was blessed with nine children with whom she shared with a devoted husband by her side for 56 years of marriage.   

She leaves to mourn sons:  Gerald (Mona), Barry (Winnie), Michael (Pam); Daughters:  Jean (Craig) O'Keefe, Carolann (Dennis) Caines, Sandra (Keith) Noseworthy, Paula (Barry) Taylor, Krista (Tim) House; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Predeceased by:  Her husband  Joseph Plowman, son Brian, parents Maturine and Romeo Gould, sister Dessa Payne, parents-in-law Beatrice and Edward Plowman.  

The family would like to thank the Rufus Guinchard Long Term Care for their compassion and kindness during Mom's stay.  A special thank you is extended to Tracy House for her exceptional care of mom over the years. 

Visitation will take place at the family residence in Port au Choix, Tuesday, February 27, 2024 beginning at 7 pm.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Port au Choix, 2 pm.  Father Rossi officiating.

Inurnment to take place at a later date.
