DOROTHY M. RYAN (Nee Byrne) Corner Brook, NL 1928 - 2010 With deep sadness and heavy hearts the family of the late Dorothy M. Ryan announce her passing on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at her family residence at the age of 81 years. Dorothy’s unwavering faith guided her in life. She was always there to lend a hand and offer herself to those in need and her sense of humor brought a smile to all those who knew and loved her. She was predeceased by her husband William Patrick, daughter in infancy Elizabeth, grandson John Joseph, parents John and Mary Ann Byrne, sisters Elaine, Mary Ann, Alice, Winnifred, brothers John and Will. Dorothy will be ever loved and sadly missed by her children: Michael, William (Gertrude), John (Isolde), Jean Patrice (Allan) and Theodore; grandchildren: Nadine, Jessica, Patrick, Charlene, Courtney, Katie, Alexsandria, Selena and Skyla; sisters: Sister Theresa Byrne, sisters of St. Martha, Jospehine and Bonnie; sister-in-law: Molly Byrne, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Sunday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. with prayer service at 8:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 19 at 10:30 a.m. from the Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer, Mount Bernard Avenue with Monsignor Edwin Gale officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
