Emma Jane Wilhelmina Lovell
She is now at rest. Her work here is complete. For on January 23, 2024, in a bed surrounded by her family and an abundance of love, Emma Lovell passed away peacefully in the Intensive Care Unit at Western Memorial Regional Hospital.
Emma, born Emma Jane Wilhelmina George, was at her happiest when stood in her kitchen, either baking her famous homemade bread or preparing a Sunday dinner feast for her family. Born and raised in McIvers, Emma was a woman of simple pleasures, and contentment for her was found whenever she was sat in a room with her children and grandchildren around. She loved those in her life well, and they’ll carry that love with them forever.
Left to celebrate the life and love of Emma are: Her adoring husband of 64 years, Eric, and their devoted children: Janice (Howard), Jennine (Harv), Kevin (Joanne), Keri (Willow), and Kirk (Daniele). Emma was also blessed with a bonus family in her good friends, Glendon and Marlain.
Emma will be sadly missed by her siblings: Foster George (Pauline), Raymond (Millie), and Gloria (Benny); sisters-in-law Marie (Steve) and Alice (Junior); brother-in-law Joe (Bonnie).
But most of all, Emma’s favourite role in her lifetime was that of grandmother. What joy did they bring her! She will be forever missed by her precious grandchildren: Nadine, Jenny, Janet, Erica, Hunter, Thomas, Mark, Abagail, Brooke, Jackson, Noah, Ella, Delilah, Aiden, Cooper, Colten, Oaklyn, Harper, and Quinn.
Emma’s loss will also be felt by a numerous amount of special nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.
Meeting Emma in Heaven are her parents, Sarah (Jenny) and Silas George, and her siblings Mildred (Ben), Ron (Nona), Alfreda (Jack), Lillian (Jim), and David (Cora) and her special daughter-in-law, Sharon, sisters and brother-in-law Joan (Fred), Abby (Louise) and Joyce, who she will be absolutely overjoyed to reunite with.
On behalf of our beautiful Emma, the family would like to thank the countless doctors and nurses who have attended to Emma over the years, as well as a special mention to registered nurse Charlene Lovell, who went above and beyond in our time of need. You were our angel in scrubs and we thank you.
As per the requests of Emma, there will be a private family celebration of life on Friday, January 26th, 2-4pm at Fillatres Funeral Home on St. Mark’s Avenue.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
