WILLIAM (Bill) Penney Corner Brook, NL It is with great sadness that the family of the late William Penney announce his passing on Saturday, March 20th, 2010 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 89 years. Loving father of 18 children. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Elizabeth; 17 children: Robert (Joan), William Jr. , Gordon (Judy), Roy (Maude), Gerald, Donald, Wayne (Pauline), Joyce DeGrace (Hector), Nicole Harder (Robert), Marie Pawley (Rick), Doris Bugden (Will), Maureen Evans (Woody), Judy Fisher (Jerry), Betty Penney (Richard), Diane Wade (Boyd), Maxine Young (Ed) and Patsy LeBlanc (Wayne); 47 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; two brothers: George and Roy Penney; four sisters: Lillian Vincent, Viola Thompson, Rita Hefford and Kathleen Wesleyson; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by daughter: June Ham, May 17, 2003; father: Pierce Penney, June 6, 1938, mother: Mildred Penney, June 12, 1993 and sister: Dorothy Tucker Hart, Jan. 22, 2010. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Monday, 7-9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, March 24th at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Temple, O’Connell Drive , Major’s Calvin and Loretta Fudge officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the charity of ones choice.
