Obituary of Whilomena Caines

January 12, 1953 - September 10, 2023                                                                                                                  

It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Whilomena Caines announce her passing on Sunday, September the 10th, at the Rufus Guinchard Health Care Centre, at the age of 70.  She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Romeo with whom she spent 50 years of marriage; her loving sisters: Margaret Curtis and Dorothy Humber, brothers: Melvin (Kim) Plowman, Wilson (Bernadette) Plowman, Ivan Plowman, Dave (Debbie) Plowman and Roy (Marilyn) Plowman; brothers-in-law: Pat (Melina) Caines, Don (Maxine) Caines and Austin Caines, sisters-in-law Josephine (Martin) Plowman and Semone Caines, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.                                                                                                                                             

Whilomena is predeceased by her parents James and Alfreda Plowman, brothers: Garfield and Garland, sisters:  Alice and Marie, niece Samantha Plowman, Baby Curtis,  parents-in-law Ray and Rita Caines, brothers-in-law Ray Caines, Peter Caines, Roy Curtis, Cecil Critchley, Cyril Humber, sister-in-law Alice Caines.                                                                                                                                             

She was known for her laughter and her love of life while socializing over a game of cards. Forever remembered, forever missed.

Cremation has taken place.                                                                                                                             

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of one's choice.    

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 @  St. Thomas Beckett Anglican Church, Port au Choix, NL  from 2pm - 4pm and 7pm - 9pm.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023 @ St. Thomas Beckett Anglican Church, Port au Choix, NL  at 2pm with The Reverend Marie Smith officiating.  Interment to follow at the Sandy Cove Interfaith Cemetery, Port Saunders, NL.
