Please share a memory of Cyril to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Cyril (Brud) Noseworthy
March 10, 1951 – September 7, 2023
Cox’s Cove, NL

The family of Cyril “Brud” Noseworthy would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to relatives, friends and neighbors for their kindness, love, and support during this most difficult time. Thank you to our family who travelled great distances to be with us.

Thank you for the many visits and phone calls. Thank you to those who contributed donations in Dad’s memory, prepared meals, sent flowers, cards, and messages.

Thank you to everyone who helped with the service: The Reverend Terry Loder, Lay Person Allan Park, Dad’s cousin, organist Dennis Barnes who played as Dad would have wanted, the readers, soloists, and pallbearers. A special thank you to Dad’s niece – Patti Leather for your touching tribute. Each of you have been a source of strength for us. Thank you to each of the musicians that dedicated songs the night before the service. Dad enjoyed gospel music and we’re sure he loved each selection. We also extend our thanks to Hughie Noseworthy for your help and guidance.

Again, we thank the members of the Cox’s Cove Volunteer Fire Department and the first responders. Thank you to Pastor Orvin Canning and the staff of Fillatre’s Funeral Home for your professional service and support.

Anyone who knew Dad knew he had a unique personality. He loved to joke around and had a nickname for just about everyone he met. He was never stuck for a word, and usually had the last say, but it was all in good fun. He had a heart of gold and would be the first to give anyone a helping hand. We believe the outpouring of support we have received over these past few weeks has been a testament to the kind and generous person he was.

Dad will be missed driving up and down the roads of Cox’s Cove and certainly missed from his daily visits down to the fish plant just to see “what’s on the go,” but nobody will miss him more than his family.

The love we had for him, and he had for us was immeasurable. He was the strongest person we knew and always our constant advisor and biggest supporter. He’d drop anything he was doing to do something for us. He provided the best and never looked for anything in return. “Dear ‘ol dad” was content with the simple things in life – going to a hockey game, sitting by the fire, or driving up over the road to look for a moose - which he has done with just about every member of the family at some point.

Our hearts are broken and will never feel the same. However, we are eternally grateful for the blessing of him and his love. Until we meet again.

Elsie, Cindy, Mark, Allie, and the Noseworthy-Wells-Fudge families.

“To everything there is a season, a time for every matter under Heaven.”

 - Ecclesiastes 3:1

It is with great sadness that we announce Cyril (Brud) Noseworthy passed unexpectedly but peacefully at his residence in Cox’s Cove on September 7, 2023 at the age of 72 years with his spouse Elsie by his side. He will be forever loved and missed by Elsie, his only child Cindy, son-in-law Mark, and his “star” granddaughter Allie (Patrick). Also mourning Cyril’s passing are Elsie’s children: Christopher, Christine, Sabrina, and Chantel; her grandchildren: Danika, Kristin, Felix, Brandon, Sarah, Bailey, Xavier, and Zane, as well as Elsie’s brothers and sisters. Brud was the go-to person for his siblings: Roger (Veda) Payne, Nancy (Gerald) Park, Ivy Park, Joan (Russ) Park, Shirley Barnes, and Stewart Noseworthy Jr. (Bev).

Uncle Brud looked forward to seeing his nieces and nephews and held a special place in his heart for each of them, especially his buddy’s Jack and Kurtis. He had many friends, extended family members and in-laws and will also be missed by Cindy’s mom Nona (Ben) and her brother Dion and family.

Cyril was pre-deceased by his parents: Stewart and Cedella Noseworthy, his in-laws: John and Mary Lushman, brother-in-law: Luke Park, and his special friends: Woodrow and Brada White.

Special thanks to the Cox’s Cove Volunteer Fire Department, the first responders, Pastor Orvin Canning, and the staff of Fillatre’s Funeral Home.
