Our precious, beautiful mother, Edna Ann Lushman, passed away on Monday, September 4th, 2023 at the young age of 64 years. Her incredibly brave and lengthy battle with illness came to an end, surrounded by her daughters and close family. Originally from Grey River, Newfoundland, Edna leaves to mourn with many loving memories her daughters Emma (Terry), Crystal (Paul), Danielle (Rod), and Simone (Tom);  her siblings Dinah (Dave), Elias (Rhonda), Hiram (Sandy), Albert, Vanessa and Michael Walt; grandchildren Amber, Alyssa, John, Ethan, Abby, Blake, Drew, Elias, Odin, Merek, Quinton, and Rowynn; and her mother Mary Ann. She was predeceased by her beloved father Walter Lushman, brothers Walter Junior and Kevin, sister Bertha, and grandson Brody. Edna was also blessed with many nephews and nieces, cousins, and friends. 

Edna was a caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She devoted her life and energies to her daughters. She completed several diploma studies and enjoyed working in early childhood education, business administration, and providing respite work for seniors. Her genuine, kind, and humble personality was a gift to all who knew her. Edna’s life may have seemed too short, but those who were blessed to be touched by her existence understand the imprint she left on our hearts far exceeds the quantity of time she spent here. 

Special thanks and immense gratitude is extended to the wonderful staff of Western Long Term Care Home. Their empathy and compassion towards our loving mother will never be forgotten. 

Visitation will be available for close friends and relatives at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue, Corner Brook, on Wednesday, September 6th, 2023 during the times of 2-4 p.m. Her funeral will be held in Grey River on Friday, September 8th, 2023 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Transfiguration Anglican Church in Grey River, Newfoundand will be gratefully accepted.
