The family of the late Marie George would like to extend a sincere thank you and appreciation for all the support from relatives, friends, and neighbours after the passing of our beloved Mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

We would like to thank family who travelled to be with us. We appreciate your expressions of sympathy, cards, messages, visits, phone calls, food and beautiful flowers.

Special thanks to Shelby Pike for your moving vocal tribute. Also thank you to Reverend Father Anthony Anh for the beautiful prayer service and funeral mass. We would like to thank the Holy Rosary ladies for all of the wonderful food you provided during the visitation and after the burial.

We thank the staff of Corner Brook Long Term Care 4 South PartridgeBerry Lane who took such great care of our Mom. Thank you to the staff of Fillatre’s Funeral Home for their professionalism and kindness. As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this as a token of our heartfelt appreciation.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Marie George (nee Turner) announce her peaceful passing on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at the Corner Brook Long Term Care at the age of 92 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children: Milton, Irene (Bill) Best, Lana (Ernie) Drover, Jacqueline (Neil) Almond; grandchildren: Derek, Amy, April, Stephen, Marc, Daniel, Stephanie and Lindsay; 7 great grandchildren: sisters and brothers: Margaret Ryan, Cyril Turner, Lilly (George) Wall, Tom (Nona) Turner and Bonnie (Bill) Bonnell; daughter-in-law Sylvia George and sister-in-law Sharon Turner; special friends, Phyllis Whalen, Madeline Whiffin and Marion and Roll Budgell; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is predeceased by her husband William George, son Alphonsus George, Parents John and Nora Turner, brothers and sisters, Andrew and Augustus Turner, Jean (Bill) Wall, Chris (Bert) Kelly, Kay (Harry) Brenton, James (Margaret) Turner and Gerald Turner, daughter-in-law Janice George and brother-in-law Joseph Ryan.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the Angels on 4-South, Partridge Berry Lane, Corner Brook Long Term Care for taking such great care of our mom.

The family will be receiving friends from Holy Rosary Parish, Pasadena on Thursday evening from 7-9:00 p.m. from where the funeral service will be held on Friday, September 8th at 11 AM with Father Anthony Anh officiating. The interment will follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery on Church Street.

As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, or memorial donations may be made to Holy Rosary Parish.
