Wilson Garfield Foote
July 20, 1933 – July 23, 2023
Corner Brook, NL

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father at the Western Long Term Care Palliative Care Unit in Corner Brook.

Left to mourn are his loving wife of 68 years: Gladys; 7 children: Gloria (Henry), Wilson Jr., Lindsay (Bridget), Barry (Dayna), Cindy (Clarence), Bev (Mark), and James, as well as numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brother: Ivan (Elaine); sister: Ada (Floyd Porter), nieces; nephews; and extended family.

Wilson was predeceased by his father: Wesley Foote; mother: Margaret Foote; brothers: Roland (Marion), Alfred (special friend Linda), Nelson (Loretta), and Freeman (Jean).

Wilson was born in Lamaline and moved with his family in 1937 as one of the first settlers in Midland. He was a lifetime member of the H.V Seniors Club, where he made lasting friendships over the years. He was a devoted parishioner of St. David Anglican Church, who believed in the power of prayer and the teachings of the bible, which he read faithfully.

Wilsons many passions in life included attending family gatherings, planting in his vegetable and flower gardens, woodworking, and Scottish dancing.

The family would like to extend a special “thank-you” to Dr. Lafferty and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit for their compassion and kindness.

As per the families wishes, cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at 2:00pm at St. David’s Anglican Church in Pasadena with Reverend Kris Gosse officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. David’s Anglican Church, or the H.V Seniors Club in Pasadena.

As dad would say, “Bye-Bye for now.”
