Bridget “Bride” Boland

June 25, 1932 – July 12, 2023

Benoit’s Cove, NL

It is with great sadness and broken hearts that the family of the late Bridget (Bride) Boland announce her peaceful passing at the Western Long Term Palliative Care Unit surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, July 12^th, 2023 at the age of 91.

She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children Larry (Dianne), James (Angela), Sharon (Lorne), Colleen (Rick), Lorraine (Wesley), Darren (Jennifer), Aaron (Kim), son-in-law Larry Vigneault, daughters-in-law Cathy and Debbie; 24 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; brother Leo McCarthy (Bella) and special nephew Johnny Boland.

Bride was predeceased by her loving husband James, daughter Helen, sons Patrick and Brian, parents Patrick and Martha McCarthy, siblings Cecilia, Theresa, Maude, Loretta (Rita), John, Jerome, Patrick, and Peter.

Special thanks to the doctors and nursing staff at the Palliative Care Unit for their exceptional care and compassion.

The family will be receiving friends at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Thursday, July 13^th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, July 14 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church in Benoit’s Cove at 9:30 am with Bishop Bart van Roijen officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery immediately following the funeral service.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish or the South Shore Fire Department.
