Gerald Gushue
September 10, 1935 - June 18, 2023

Our world is a little less brighter as we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Gerald Gushue. Pop loved his family tremendously and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the lights of his life.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his children, Ann Marie (Dean) Kean, Paula Gushue, Andre (Lola) Gushue, and Gloria Gushue (Nola Roberts), his treasured grandchildren, Melissa Kean, Sarah (Tyler) Rex, Daniel Kean (Tiffani Tolley), Michael Kean (Melissa Park), Josh Gushue (Dan Saindon), Jarrod Gushue, Melissa Rideout, and Alisha Rideout, his precious great-grandchildren, Nathan Kean, Owen Kean, Eleanor Rex, and Anna Rideout, his brother Edmund Gushue, his sisters Regina Chaput and Edna Price, all of his “Keough” family, and his special friend Ruth Klevorick, her children Randy, Tony, and Sean and their families. as well as a large circle of family, friends, nieces, and nephews.

He is predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Theresa Gushue, his parents Edmund and Elizabeth Gushue, his brothers Donald and Andrew Gushue and sister Mary King; brothers-in-law Wilson Price, Leo Chaput, and Jerry King.

We will miss his infectious smile and hearty laugh, his carefree spirit and come-what-may attitude, his gentle and kind heart, and his eagerness for finding a camera at which to smile. While our world has become less bright, the sky has gained another star to shine down on us, and remind us that you are forever looking down.

A special thank you to the palliative care team for the care, kindness, and gentleness you showed our dad. He was, and we are, so grateful for the compassion you showed.

Flowers are graciously accepted, or donations in Gerald’s memory can be made to the Palliative Care Unit at Western Memorial Regional Hospital.
