May Gallant (Nee White)
June 5th, 1929 – November 16th, 2022

 

It is with great sadness that the children of May Gallant announce her passing at the Palliative Care Unit, Western Health, Corner Brook. Surrounded by love and tenderness, Mom ended her life’s journey and slipped quietly away from us into the arms of Jesus.

Pre-deceased by her husband, William, of 18 years, Mom was left to raise her nine children alone. Left to mourn are: Theresa, Sylvia, Kathleen (Derrick), Ernest (Bonnie), Brenda (Robert), Bernadette (George), Isabel (Ron), Hubert (Paula) and Sheila (Jim); as well as her sister Rita Bennett. She also left Thirty-two grandchildren, thirty-eight great grandchildren and eight great, great, great grandchildren, as well as a large circle of other neices, nephews and extended family. In addition, all her friends with whom she enjoyed their company and will be dearly missed by them.

Mom was also predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth White, three brothers, Jim, George (Dodd) and Joseph. Two sons-in-law Angus White, and Frederick Boardman.

Visitation will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street, on Sunday November 20th from 2-4 p.m. for family and 7-9 p.m. for friends and acquaintances. The Funeral Service will take place on Monday the 21st of November, 10:30 a.m., from Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, Benoit’s Cove, with Father Jim Robertson officiating. Interment to follow at Our Lady Star of the Sea Cemetery, Benoit’s Cove.
