I am just now reading of the passing of Hope. Please accept my sincerest condolences. I was privilege to have my office right across the hall, on level two in WMRH. She was able to keep an eye on me and she often frequented my office with “the latest news” in the shop. She was a delight to know. How she ever kept up with all the activities and groups that she belonged to was amazing, besides her gardening and crafts. I have no idea how she could have so much energy.
Just before one of the Christmas Memorial Lighting of the Tree events, having previously asked me to do the mediation, but not to be long. Immediately following the service, at the reception, she confronted me. “You were too darn long”. I replied, “Hope 7 minutes under water is too long, but not when it comes to preaching”. She just laughed it off. I just loved her beautiful spirit and friendship. She was always so proud to introduce me to her children.
Sorry I never got to submit this, until after the celebration of her life.

Barb and family. Sincere condolences on the death of your mother. I enjoyed many years working with Hope in Emerg. She was the epitome of “The old School”. She gave her heart and soul to every patient she cared for. My pet nickname for her was “Hopeless Wiseman” which would either earn me a smirk or a slap on the wrist, all in good fun! To Hope's family,
I'm so very sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. I first met Hope at Western Memorial Hospital when she hired me to work as summer relief in the office at the the Diabetic Clinic. Having not worked for over 12 years I was quite nervous to get back into the work force. I thank her to this day for her patience and remember her fondly. She spoke highly of her family and everything she did she did it with a passion. She was a wonderful lady indeed. Hold on to all of your precious memories.

Barbara,Janet, Patricia and the Wiseman families. On behalf of the Western Regional Hospital Auxiliary, I wish to extend sincere sympathy on the loss of your mother Hope. She was a very hardworking and dedicated member of the Auxiliary, always there for selling tickets for our lotteries, our bake sales at the Hospital where her jellies and homemade apple pies were always a big attraction. She held the position as Treasurer for a number of years and excelled in that position. She was always one of the first on hand for the Foundations Radiothon and even after she retired from the Auxiliary she and Patricia were still always on hand to help. She was a very dedicated member for the Special Olympics and spoke of that organization so often and worked so hard for them. Treasure all the wonderful members you have . Hope Wiseman will be remembered for her mental toughness and compassion.
She will also be remembered for dedication to the Nursing community, her volunteer work with the Special Olympics as a volunteer and executive member, and contributions with Western Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
Her contributions as a dedicated Nurse and volunteer work will never be forgotten.
