Thomas Nicholas Leonard passed peacefully on November 5, 2021 at the age of 83, surrounded by loved ones at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital.

A life-long resident of Corner Brook, and an avid outdoorsman, Tom is survived by his wife of 53 years, Gladys, daughter Krista (Al Doyle), daughter Shelley (Jason) Taylor, precious granddaughter Maisie Alice Taylor, daughter Gina Barriault (Kevin Hill), grandchildren Mark Barriault and Britney Hill and their families.

Tom is also survived by his brother Jerry (Daphne), and sisters Brenda (Vince Lewis), Mary (Sylvester Courtney) and Jean Blackwood, along with many nieces and nephews and their families. A very special thank you to his nephew David Blackwood, for keeping watch over Tom during the last two months while he was in hospital.

Tom is predeceased by his parents Annie and Cyril Leonard.

The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to the nurses and staff of Western Memorial Regional Hospital, to Dr. Lafferty, Dr. Dunn, Father Terry, Dr. Bolous, Dr. Chaulk, Dr. Greenland (St. John’s) and Dr. Ahmad (St. John’s), and especially to the Cancer Centre Western Region.

A celebration of life ceremony will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home Chapel, 4 St. Marks Avenue, on Wednesday, November 10th at 11:00 am followed by interment at Mount Patricia Cemetery. Due to Covid Government regulations, Vaxpass, Identification and mask will be required. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Western Memorial Hospital Foundation or a charity of one’s choice.
