Obituary of Richard Christopher Dennis

July 12th 1966 - November 5th 2021

Corner Brook, NL

 

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Richard Christopher Dennis at the age of 55. He passed away peacefully at his home with his wife by his side. With fond and loving memories, he leaves to mourn the love of his life, wife Lorena of twenty-eight years, and his children Joseph and Noah. 

 

He also leaves behind his parents Leslie and Maureen (Roxie) Dennis, sister Heather (Mike) Collins, niece Caitlyn (Evan), his in-laws Freeman and Shirley Pafford, sister-in-law Linda (Daryl) Sparkes, niece Jamie (Andrew), nephew Colin (Jenna), sister-in-law Sheila (Peter) Burt, nephew Nathan (Olivia), niece Myla (Dechaun). He also leaves to mourn numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

 

Richard’s life will forever be remembered by all who knew and loved him. 

 

Visitation will take place on Monday November 8th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Fillatre’s Funeral Home on St. Mark’s Avenue. Service of Remembrance will be held on Tuesday November 9th at 2pm at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Cathedral with Reverend Catherine Short and Reverend Tanya White officiating. For those unable to attend,  the service will be live streamed on the Anglican Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, Corner Brook, NL facebook page. Private internment to follow. In compliance with Covid-19 Government regulations VaxPass, identification and masks are required to attend the visitation and service of remembrance. The capacity limit for the service of remembrance is 150. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

 

Richard’s family would like to thank Dr. Dunn, Dr. Park, Dr. Healy, and a special thank you to the nurses and staff at the Chemo unit at Western Health. Also, thank you to the staff of Dennis GM for their love and support. 

 

Richard was the ultimate family man. His life was centred around his family, his beloved work, his community, and his love of travel.
