Obituary of Michael Anthony Basha

Michael Anthony Basha (Mike)

Born (and raised) in Curling July 19th, 1947

It is with tremendous sadness that the family of the late Mike Basha announce his peaceful passing, surrounded by his loving and devoted family, on November 3rd, 2021. Mike will always be remembered by his gentle and kind soul. He thoroughly enjoyed engaging in good conversation and he left an impression on many people young and old.

Mike will be forever remembered by his dedicated best friend and wife Linda of 52 years, his two precious gifts from God (his children) Cory Basha (Deanne Green) and Corinna (Sis) Basha (Ronnie Lewis) as well as his three angels (grandchildren) Carter Lewis, Sophie and Chloe Basha and special mention Ryan Lewis; his seven brothers and sisters Mary Basha (Bill), Kathleen Limberis (Pete), Dave Basha (Mill), Anthony Basha, Martha Basha, Noel Basha and Elias Basha. Also left to mourn are his brothers and sisters in-law Christine Basha, Dave Hicks, Bruce Hicks (Gerry), Doreen Antle (Max), Roy Hicks (Nora), Jerry Hicks (Christine), Eileen Wells (Jerry); many nieces and nephews and special friends Tom Quigley and Mike and Marg Boland.

He was pre-deceased by his father Elias Basha, mother Mary Wellon, step-father William Wellon, brothers Tom, Joe and Nick, mother and father in-law Marjorie and Clarence Hicks, sisters in-law Mary and Diane Basha, and niece Mary Ann Basha.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 5th from the hours of 6-9 p.m. from Fillatre's Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street. Due to COVID-19 Government Regulations face masks and Vaccine Passports required for entry. 

The Mass of Christian Burial will he held on Saturday, November 6th at 10:30 a.m. from Sacred Heart Parish, Curling Street with Father Jim Robertson Officiating. The Mass of Christian Burial will be live streamed through Fillatre Funeral Home Ltd. Facebook Page.
