Our family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to everyone who reached out to us since the passing of our Mom.   Your kindness with phone calls, cards, flowers, food and donations, in her memory, will forever be remembered.
 
Thank you to Mountainview Retirement Home, her caregivers/friends were her extended family whom she loved and always spoke highly of.  
 
Thank you to WMRH, the Palliative Care Team and all nurses who cared for our 
mother.  To Rev. Tanya for prayers/memories and Fillatre’s (Mindy & Jessica) for the invaluable service you provide to grieving families…..
 
AND to Dr. Coleman and Gertie who were always there for Mom over the years and cared about her….thank you.
 
Your sympathy and kindness in our time of grief will always be remembered.

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother Mildred Bessie Lockyer (Best) on Saturday, August 7, 2021. Leaving to mourn son Larry Wolfe (Pamela), daughters Marie Mullins-Rideout (Tom), Millie Donauer (Dale), sons Cyril (Toni) & Saul (Jean); daughters-in-law Thelma & Patricia, her loving sister Jessie Humber. Her grandchildren Robin Ann, Douglas (Jenn), Christopher (Iona), Cory (Holly), Paul, Peter (Cynthia), Alex (Allison), Morgan (Mark), Sasha, Jason (Michelle), Chelsea (Bryan), Jordan (Brittany) Rachael (Joe) Charlotte (Ralf) plus 15 great grandchildren plus step-grandchildren & families, nieces & nephews plus a large circle of relatives & friends. Predeceased by her husband Robert John (on same date August 7, 1993), her children Charles, Violet & Robert and son-in-law Joe Mullins.

 

Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Friday, August 20 from 2-4 p.m. with family prayers and memories at 3:30 p.m. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery, Rev. Tanya White officiating.
 

In lieu of flowers, a donation to WMRH or the Palliative Care Unit or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.

Our family wishes to thank the staff and residents/friends of Mountainview Retirement Home, the Palliative Care Unit, and WMRH for their care and compassion. Special thanks to Dr. Coleman and Gertie for your gentle kindness to our Mom.

Rest in peace Mom/Nan......you are so loved
