It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary May Mercer announce her passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville on Monday, January 10, 2005 at the age of 86 years. She will be sadly missed by her loving family, sons: Bob (Gertie), Charlie (Roxanne), Ben (Maureen) all of Corner Brook, Walter (Donna), St. Georges, daughters: Mary (Cecil) Ryan, Elaine Mercer (Bob), Marion (Tom) Cutler, all of St. Georges, Patricia (Lawrence) Hoffman, Kippens, Frances (Bill) Mason, Orleans, ON, Suzanne (Gerry) Hiltz, Halifax, NS, Kathleen (Keith) Hann, Pasadena, Theresa (Jim) McCarthy, St. Phillips, Pam (Ron) Parsons, Summerside, 42 grandchildren, 41 Great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, sisters: Irene Power, Wabush, Sadie Messervey, St. Georges; son-in-law, Everest (Marina) Collier, Stephenville; sisters-in-law, Mae Power, Halifax, NS, Ruby Ruth, Corner Brook, Jacqueline MacInnis, Highlands, as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, including all her dear friends at the Emile Benoit House, Stephenville Crossing. She is predeceased by her husband, JImmy, 1968; daughters: Shirley, Goldie and Elizabeth, parents, Walter and Jane Ruth, brothers, Bill, Ignatius, Walter and Jack, sisters, Lillian, Ann, Rita and Genevieve. Friends may visit St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, St. Georges on Wednesday and Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. from where the Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, January 14th at 10:30 a.m. with Father Gerard Patry and Father Edwin Gale officiating, interment to follow at the church cemetery, Courthouse Road. As expressions of sympathy, no flowers by family request. Donations may be made to the St. Joseph Parish Memorial Fund. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, West Street, Stephenville Crossing. The family guest book may be signed or memorial donations may be made through our website www.fillatre.ca.
