Pauline was a kind and generous woman, who eagerly and wholeheartedly gave to others- through her church, her community, charity fundraisers, or individuals stopping by to visit. She was meticulous and took great pride in maintaining a welcoming home to family and friends, as well as strangers.  She dearly loved to receive hungry guests (the hungrier, the better), only to send them away with full bellies and often a care package of handmade wares such as knitted goods, embroidered pieces, homemade preserves, baked goods, or the remaining bounty of the meal they just enjoyed.

She loved many things... especially her home in Rocky Harbour, where -in later years, she would anxiously return for the summer. In this- her happiest place, she enjoyed an abundance of visitors, as well as the solitude of the beautiful surroundings, the ocean, the crows (who were fortunate enough to be the most well-fed of their species in the area), and her birdhouses- in which the annual inhabitants would yield each years flock of offspring....of this, she was very proud.

Her greatest pride however, was her family- whom she loved dearly, and unconditionally….and they, her. We were blessed with the treasure of a beautiful, loving, and supportive mother.  The void of her absence will be felt long lasting.

We are sincerely grateful to the staff at Bonnews Lodge for their kindness and compassion to mom and to our family. We also wish to thank Kittiwake Funeral Homes for their compassion, guidance, and professionalism during this difficult time.

A private family viewing will be held from 1:30-2pm on Saturday April 17th, 2021 at St. Matthews Anglican Church in Rocky Harbour, NL.
