No more worries … no more pain … peace has finally come.
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Margaret McCarthy announce her passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook on Tuesday, May 26th, 2009 at the age of 64 years. A truly dedicated mother, grandmother, wife, daughter and aunt. Mag was the heart of her family. She loved and tended to them to nearly the end. She never cared for the finer things in life. She was contented as long as she knew her children were safe from harm and had a hot meal each day with which she usually provided them. Her grandchildren, who were precious to her, need only to provide her with a kiss and a hug and in return for the unconditional, continuous care of her family, she required only love and a weekly bingo game or two with her long time friends. Her role as mother was often extended to care for nieces and nephews and anyone else in need. After the passing of her loving husband Anthony (August 17, 1993), she opened her arms and her home to care for two foster children in need of a loving home. Mag was blessed with six children: Kevin (Betty) Wayson, Jean (Gary) Hauck, Annie (Ivan) Randell, Mike (Joanne) McCarthy, Dean (Michelle) McCarthy, and Martina (Dean) Gallant. She also found enormous pride and joy in her eight grandchildren: Matthew, Marlee, AJ, Vicki, Bailey, Anthony, Cassie, and Shelby. She always had the love and support of her six brothers and sisters: Kate (Laris) Duffy, Georgina (Floyd) Imm, Ralph (Elizabeth) Wayson, Barbara (Gerry) Barkhouse, Bill (Glenda) Wayson and Jim (Maxine) Wayson and Patsy from whom she was already parted. She is now going to the loving arms of her husband Anthony, and her beloved parents Willam and Eileen Wayson. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Wednesday between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place from Our Lady Star of the Sea on Thursday, May 28th at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery.
